Through Off Melrose, Michael has directed and produced numerous award-winning corporate, industrial, and documentary projects. His newest docu-series TV project Behind the Strings, set in the international high-stakes world of rare violins, began production in September 2015.
Off Melrose takes pride in telling compelling stories in brand-supportive ways, scaling the size and scope of each production to what’s best for our clients and their goals.
FEATURED CLIENT: Dignity Health
We create marketing, training, and fundraising videos for Dignity Health Arizona locations including Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. The viral video Be Inspired: Sam’s Miracle has received more than 200,000 online views and generated coverage substantial from Good Morning America, ESPN, The Today Show, and other media outlets. Cutdowns played at Chase Field (Arizona Diamondbacks game) and other sports and client-identified venues.
Here’s an example of the coverage from ABC’s Good Morning America, which incorporated much of our production footage (basketball B-roll, neurorehabilitation and workout footage, and interviews with patient and physicians).
In 2015, we created Knocking Out Parkinson’s Disease, an inspirational short documenting the services provided by the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence.
We were honored to produce the “in memoriam” video Muhammad Ali: 1942-2016 as a tribute to The Greatest from patients at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
FEATURED PROJECT: Be With Me (Autism: A Family’s Journey)

- Audience Choice: Best Feature, 2014 Richmond International Film Festival
- Remi Award (Platinum), Best 60-Minute TV Program and International Short Subject, 2014 WorldFest Houston
In 2014, Be With Me played a theatrical run in Los Angeles, was acquired by Flame Distribution at Sheffield Doc/Fest, and is now being distributed worldwide under the title Autism: A Family’s Journey.
FEATURED CLIENT: Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium
Given our background managing film screenings, premieres, and other events, Off Melrose accepted the offer to direct communications and produce annual events for the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium, the nation’s leading think tank of Alzheimer’s researchers, composed of more than 160 scientists from seven prominent medical institutions: Arizona State University, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, Banner Sun Health Research Institute, Barrow Neurological Institute, Mayo Clinic, TGen (Translational Genomics Research Institute), and the University of Arizona. Annual events draw more than 1,200 attendees from demographics including international scientists, government leaders, the media, and the general public.
